Chucky at Chavis

The summer salvation of the basketball-starved has arrived: Raleigh Parks and Rec ball at St. Aug’s Emery Gym, also known as the Chavis League. The great Chucky Brown is back, leading Style once again. This year their uniforms are neon-bright purple and green. This is not the greatest picture, but I promise more as the summer goes on. We didn’t make it through the entire game – I was wiped and started feeling dizzy so we left at the half, but Style was up and I’m sure they won. Sadly, this picture does not capture the full Chucky experience, complete down to the purple Nikes on his feet.

No other Wolfpackers made an appearance while we were there tonight but the ball was good and for the first night of league play, there was a pretty big crowd, which surprised me. I guess people were antsy to get out of their houses after yesterday’s storm.  Free + basketball + a night hanging out with my husband. What could be better than that?
